College Mathematics Preparation Certificate of Competency

This noncredit program covers various topics to prepare students for mathematics needed in college-level courses and more advanced courses. Content includes mathematics-specific study skills, individual student coaching, using resources available to students, and various entrance skills for college-level mathematics and science courses.

In order to earn the College Mathematics Preparation Certificate of Competency, students must successfully complete MATH 361 (Math Study Skills) and any support course for college-level or above-college-level mathematics courses or MATH 380 (Mathematics in Science Support – Noncredit).

Learning Outcomes

Upon satisfactory completion of this program students will be able to:

  1. Summarize strategies to improve mathematics learning and success in mathematics and science courses.
  2. Apply mathematics skills from below-college-level mathematics courses to college-level and above college-level mathematics and science.
