Business Calculus Preparation Certificate of Competency
This noncredit program covers various topics to prepare and support students planning to take or taking College Algebra and Business Calculus. Content includes the Cartesian coordinate system, linear and quadratic functions and other models, linear and nonlinear equations, limits, derivatives, antiderivatives, integrals, and applications of mathematics to business and economics.
In order to earn the Business Calculus Preparation Certificate of Competency, students must successfully complete MATH 350 (College Algebra for Liberal Arts Corequisite Support), MATH 351 College Algebra for STEM Support and and MATH 340 (Business Calculus Support – Noncredit).
Learning Outcomes
Upon satisfactory completion of this program students will be able to:
- Summarize strategies to improve mathematics learning and success in College Algebra and Business Calculus.
- Apply mathematics skills from below-college-level mathematics courses to College Algebra and Business Calculus courses.
