Economics AA-T Degree
The Associate in Arts in Economics for Transfer, also called the Economics AA-T Degree, is designed to prepare students for a seamless transfer with junior status to a CSU campus in a program or major in Economics for completion of a baccalaureate degree.
This Economics AA-T degree requires students to meet both of the following requirements:
- Completion of 60 semester units that are eligible for transfer to the California State University, including both of the following:
- Completion of Cal-GETC
- A minimum of 18 semester units in a major or area of emphasis. All courses in the major or area of emphasis must be completed with a grade of "C" (or "P") or better.
- Obtainment of a minimum grade point average of 2.0.
There are no additional graduation requirements. Students are advised to consult with a counselor to verify transfer requirements.
Learning Outcomes
Upon satisfactory completion of this program students will be able to:
- Use the demand and supply model to critically analyze real-world examples and deviations from the optimal output level.
- Apply accounting and economic concepts and principles in making decisions about firm operations.
- Apply fundamental economic concepts and standard economic models to explain the interaction of the major components of the economy regarding relevant economic issues in both the short and long run.
- Evaluate fundamental macroeconomic topics, the effect and measures of economic fluctuation, fiscal and monetary policies, and international trade.
