Hybrid, Fuel-Cell, & Electric Vehicle Certificate of Achievement

The emphasis of the Hybrid, Fuel Cell and Electric Vehicle Certificate is on vehicle electrical/electronic systems, artificial intelligence, and hybrid, fuel cell and electric vehicles including their basic operation, function, and service. The systems include vehicle controller programing, high voltage battery, fuel cell and inverter operation, functions and diagnostics. This certificate is designed to prepare learners and incumbent employees for entry-level positions at local automotive dealerships, independent repair facilities, national repair chains, fleets, and parts suppliers. The applicable courses comply with the National Institute of Automotive Service Excellence (ASE), meet the standards of National Coalition of Certification Centers (NC3), and integrate Mopar College Automotive Program (CAP) Local levels 0 and 1 online coursework.

Learning Outcomes

Upon satisfactory completion of this program students will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate knowledge and skills to safely work in a shop environment and on high-voltage vehicle systems.
  2. Describe the basic operation of hybrid, fuel cell and electric vehicle systems.
  3. Perform basic service, repair, maintenance, and diagnostic on the hybrid, fuel cell and electric vehicle systems.
