Automotive Electrical Certificate of Achievement
The emphasis of the Automotive Electrical Certificateis on vehicle electrical/electronic systems including their basic operation, function, and service. The systems include battery, starting, charging, body control, lighting, restraint systems, and on-board diagnostics.This certificate is designed to prepare learners and incumbent employees for entry-level positions at local automotive dealerships, independent repair facilities, national repair chains, fleets, and parts suppliers. The applicable courses comply with the National Institute of Automotive Service Excellence (ASE), meet the standards of National Coalition of Certification Centers (NC3), and integrate Mopar College Automotive Program (CAP) Local levels 0 and 1 online coursework.
Learning Outcomes
Upon satisfactory completion of this program students will be able to:
- Safely work in a shop environment and on the basic 12-volt vehicle systems.
- Describe the basic operation of the major vehicle electrical/electronic systems.
- Perform safe basic service, repair, maintenance and diagnostic on the vehicle’s electrical/electronic systems.
