Liberal Arts AA Degree with Emphasis in Social and Behavioral Sciences

These courses emphasize the perspective, concepts, theories and methodologies typically found in the vast variety of disciplines that comprise study in the Social and Behavioral Sciences. Students will study about themselves and others as members of a larger society. Topics of discussion will stimulate critical thinking about ways people have acted in response to their societies and will allow students to evaluate how societies and social subgroups operate.

Learning Outcomes

Upon satisfactory completion of this program students will be able to:

  1. Students will be eligible to transfer to four-year colleges and universities in majors related to Social and Behavioral Sciences.
  2. Explain the complexity of global relationships between self and others, as well as self and the environment. (Institutional Outcome: Ethical Behavior)
  3. Explain the value of diverse cultures and populations from a social and behavioral sciences perspective. (Institutional Outcome: Personal and Professional Development)
