Liberal Arts AA Degree with Emphasis in Arts, Humanities, and Communication Studies

These courses emphasize the study of cultural, literary, humanistic activities and artistic expression of human beings. Students will evaluate and interpret the ways in which people through the ages in different cultures have responded to themselves and the world around them in artistic and cultural creation. Students will also learn to value aesthetic understanding and incorporate these concepts when constructing value judgments.

Learning Outcomes

Upon satisfactory completion of this program students will be able to:

  1. Students will be eligible for transfer to four-year colleges and universities in majors related to Arts, Humanities, and Communication Studies.
  2. Explain diversity as it is expressed in Arts, Humanities, or Communication Studies and across various cultures through reading, speaking and writing. (Institutional Outcome: Critical Thinking and Communication)
  3. Utilizing various communication modalities, display creative expression, original thinking, and symbolic discourse. (Institutional Outcome: Critical Thinking and Communication)
