Pets and Animals on Campus
For the health, safety, and comfort of students, employees, and visitors, animals are not permitted on District property or in District buildings, except as allowed by law or approved District activity. This includes service animals, service animals in training, and law enforcement animals.
Service animals are permitted on campus in accordance with applicable Board Policy, Administrative Procedure, state and federal law. A service animal is generally a dog that is individually trained to do work or perform tasks for a person with a disability. Service animals must remain under the control of their handler at all times.
Pets, emotional support animals, comfort animals, and therapy animals are not permitted on campus unless specifically approved through an authorized District process or activity.
Animals found on campus in violation of this policy may be removed by the appropriate animal control agency or humane society at the owner’s expense. Students who violate this policy may be subject to disciplinary action.
